The global power sector is the world’s biggest climate polluter, being responsible for 37% of all man-made carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
We all know the growing dangers of CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions. In the Asia-Pacific region alone, they are projected to rise by 85% by 2025. A pretty high and dangerous percentage if you ask me.
According to WWF, the Philippines has the capability to start using renewable energy, (Energy obtained from sources that are essentially inexhaustible, unlike, for example, the fossil fuels, of which there is a finite supply. Renewable sources of energy include wood, waste, geothermal, wind, photovoltaic, and solar thermal energy). And, not only does it fight global warming but it also saves the Philippines billions of dollars.
There is an on-going campaign to convince the Philippine Congress and Senate to pass this Bill into law. Take time to sign the e-petition Here
