WebWatch 004: Climate Talks

Filed under: General — justices @ 8:36 am

3127.jpgReal progress was made at the climate talks in Montreal, Canada, as governments finalized the ground rules for the first phase of the Kyoto Protocol and set the stage for discussions to further cut carbon emissions after 2012.

This is wonderful news! The ‘world’ is finally understanding the need to reduce carbon pollutions in order to save the planet WE live in.

With the support and participation of mayors, young people, business leaders and elected representatives from around the world, the plan for the Kyoto Protocol seem more promising. Hmm, I wonder what the US and Russia will think about this.?

The planet is the clear winner, despite tremendous pressure first from the US administration, then from Russia, to slow down progress in curbing global warming.

Now, Canada should just continue their extraordinary effort to ensure that the plan they agreed about, would become reality.

Let’s cross our fingers!
